I also encountered this problem, version 1.0 should be available in a few days and I think a lot of problems will be solved… a bit of patience 
As noted in repies to related posts: I had populated Legato Hierarchy - but now it’s empty. Been running through and reviewing all settings, configurations, sdef, json files etc… so far to no avail.
Notification: No tree view with id ‘view-legato-system’ registered.
