Windows Developer Studio update for 16.10.1

Hi guys,

the eclipse dev studio updates for Linux work fine, but there is an issue with the windows version - it prompts to update to 16.10.1 but straight away gives the following error:

An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
session context was:(profile=DefaultProfile, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=).

I don’t know if there’s an official release of the windows version yet, I think not, but I just thought I’d bring it to your attention

Hi @mahtab

This is a recurring but intermittent bug we’re having only on Windows, indeed.
Here are the steps to workaround:

  • Go to Window > Preferences > Install/Update > Available software sites
  • Remove the entry pointing on
  • Uncheck any other potential entry
  • Click OK
  • Go to Help > Check for Updates
  • It should complain it doesn’t have any software site to check; let it bring you to the Available Software Sites again
  • Add again the entry with
  • Click the Reload button to check the site loading is ok
  • Click OK
  • Go again to Help > Check for Updates

And you will be done: updates will work from now.
