Questions about the WP7607 voltage range

Hi all!

According to the datasheet, the operating supply voltage is 3.4…4.3V, the absolute maximum voltage is 5.5V. That is, the module is designed to operate from a lithium battery.

  1. If the battery voltage drops below 3.4V, how will the WP7607 behave?

  2. If we want to avoid uncertainty with reduced voltage, can we power the WP7607 from a standard 5V USB?

  3. Did I understand correctly that the SDio pins are 1.8V, and a 3.3V level translator is required for normal operation?

Best regards,
Serge

you need to check AT!PCVOLTLIMITS?

According to specification, the max voltage should be 4.3V only

Please see specification:

  1. Did I understand correctly that during operation we should periodically monitor the voltage and if it drops below 3.4V, do something? What should we do if it drops below 3.4V?
  2. The module uses a PMIC (datasheet Figure 2-3:WP7607 Architecture Overview), can you tell which one (I’m interested in the range of its input working voltages, usually PMIC’s input voltages 2.5-5.5V) ?
  3. For 2.85V range SDio pins, what external power supply voltages are acceptable?
    In MangO-red board I see 2.95V.
Is it possible 2.85V+/-10% ? Is it possible to increase it to 3.3V?
  1. you might consider to poweroff the module
  2. you need to check with distributor as this is internal information inside the module
  3. you might need to make a test based on this on the yocto image:
