Ntpd automatic startup on cellular data establishment

Dear forum,

we are trying to configure our WP7607-1 module to start ntp deamon when cellular data network is established. We are looking at: /etc/network/if-up.d/ntpd_start which looks like this:

#! /bin/sh

if [ "$IFACE" = "eth0" ]; then
    /etc/init.d/ntpd_time_service start
fi

At the moment it is set to start on eth0 interface start and we want to set it for cellular data interface is up. The problem is that we don’t know which interface name to put instead of eth0. Here is output of ifconfig command

# ifconfig

Hi,

Cellular data interfaces are named “rmnet_datax” .

They are created dynamically (so, when they are down they are not listed by “ifconfig -a”).

Try to replace “eth0” "by “rmnet_data0”.
